Hawaiian Luau Birthday Party!

So as I was approaching the big 30, I decided to have a real Hawaiian Luau Party - for some reason I always wanted to have one - everything worked out great, we decorated the deck, had a bunch of friends and enjoyed the hot auagust night in the city ...

We even had the palm trees - it was a beautiful, very fun hawaiian night ...
Maybe we have another Hawaiian Luau next summer ... maybe ...

One Sunday afternoon we decided to have a little "Chicago weekend". We live here, and never really get to go and wonder around the city and see what it has to offer. We took water taxi from Wacker Drive to Navy Pier, had a nice lunch outside, ice cream, than we headed over to Millennium Park and Buckingham Fountain.... Boy, we were tired after all ...

Boys, Boys, Boys ...

Family Photo on Mothers Day.

Mexican "tres leches" cake - margarita flavor, it was pretty good!

Tim is reading Polish Cookbook ... how is that possible?

and here is the picture of the pool and the hot tub, oh and there is a Johnatan's playground in the background...
FLORIDA VACATION

The Boys Club

OUR LITTLE VACATION IN FLORIDA

We went to visit Ryan and Chris in sunny Florida - we had the best weather you can imagine - sunny, and in mid 80's ... Just beautifull... we enjoyed every minute of the warm climate since Chicago was still pretty cold.

We hang out in the pool, grilling, having margaritas and had a lot of fun. We both loved it to the point that we started thinking about moving there - life is little slower in Florida compare to Chicago. And we could use a change of pace. Maybe someday ...

CALIENTE !!!

One of the highlights of our little vacation in Florida - was the evening at CALIENTE - for those who don't know - it is a "clothing optional" community. Yes, Chris, Ryan, Tim and I along with a couple of friends went to check out the nudist colony... we had a couple of drinks before we hit the destination ...

The only place that that did not accept CASH - credit cards only... wonder why??? ha ha ha...

and a lot of naked bodies crousing around, some of them wearing tops, no bottoms, some wearing bottoms - no tops... some young, some old, some goodlooking and sexy, some funny-looking... OR sagging....

Imagine Karaokee Bar where they all are singing naked - or a night club - where you can spot naked bodies mingling to the music... jumping up and down... OR MAKING OUT ...
"conversation pool" - interesting ... was very bubbly, we coulldn't figure out why ...

Is there another word for naked - I started to use it way too often ...

I was going to post our picture - but decided not to - just in case if there are children checking out this website...
And now - we all know why Ryan and Chris moved to Land O'Lakes, Pasco County, Florida ... who would have ever thought...

WINTER IS OVER !!!
HELLO SUMMER!

After dinner we relaxed, had cake and icecream, and a lot of laughs ...
Tim's Birthday Party

We had dinner and cake for Tim's birthday. We meet Tim's parents over at Kevin's house (Kevin and Laura were in Mexico for Laura's birthday) and had a little family dinner. We also made icecream - yea, I know what's the fun in making icecream - actualy we used the icecream making ball (christmas present from Pam)- you roll on the floor for about 45 minutes, and it weights like 20 pounds... we all sat on the floor and rolled it to each other - after a while we had delicious desert...
Winter's Back

We had quite a lot of snow in Chicago last weekend. Winter came back for good. They say that this is one of the coldest few weeks we had in Chicago in 20 years... brrrrr,

It's going to be a cold Superbowl Sunday ... 0 degrees F - that's the high for Sunday ....

Elvis Presley - The King himself ... 1968 comeback concert in Vegas ...
Famous Graceland Gates with the mansion in the background ...
Elvis is resting in his "Meditation Garden" in the backyard - with his mother, father, his favorite grandmother Minnie Mae... and his twin brother Jesse Garron ... that was stillborn - Elvis was born 10 minutes later...

That garden used to be his favorite place to relax, gather thoughts and get away from the rest of the world...
Jungle Room - one of Elvis' favorite room, that back brick wall is a waterfall wall.

This is a picture taken in the basement of the house - that's where Elvis had his entertainment rooms - this is a pool room with walls and ceiling covered in persian fabric, very dark and cozy...

Living Room with beautiful crystal chandolier.

Elvis Presley's House

Inside of the house everything is left exactly the same as it was the day Elvis passed. The first floor only is open to public, family wanted to keep the upstairs closed for privacy reasons. House is located on Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis on 14 acres of land.
The picture shows living room, and his music room in the back. On the right Elvis's famous 15 foot couch.

Cotton Fields ...

I got to see cotton fields fo the first time in my life... and touch real cotton balls... ; )
Graceland - Memphis, TN

The second part of our trip was Memphis, TN - we went there to see Elvis Presley's house - Graceland. It was my dream since I moved to States. We got the VIP tour, and we got to see every little thing they had to display.
The mension was amazing, wasn't as big as it seems on the pictures, but it was just great to be there. Felt like Elvis' spirit was there, like he never left, unbelievable...
We saw all his cars, motorcycles, and other toys he had, his plane -Lisa Marie that he purchased for a half a million dollars. We've heard crazy stories about Elvis, his family and his life... Lisa Marie - his doughter never saw snow before, so Elvis calles his plane crew, and around 9 pm they flew to Colorado just to show his doughter snow...they got there, play with it for 15 minutes and went back home, to Memphis...

Road trip to Nashville, TN

Me and Tim went for a little weekend getaway to Nashville, TN. We packed the car and hit the road in October 06. That was one of the most amazing weekend trips we had together in a while. We got to learn a lot about the roots of country music.
We stayed downtown Nashville, a block away from the legendary Broadway Street - where 10 most popular Honky Tonk bars are located. Broadway Street is the center of entertainment in Nashville. Bars open till the morning hours, live music, beer, people wearing cowboy hats, diners, record stores, you can even get the whole cowboy wardrobe if you want, everything within 5 blocks. i have to admit that we were so excited, that we both got a pair of cowboy boots and real southern cowboy shirts - ulala ... that drain our wallets, too ...
Every hour of our trip was filled with something: we checked out The Country Music Hall of Fame Museum, RCA Studio B (where Elvis - I love him - recorded over 100 #1 hits of his career), we did not get to Grand Ole Opry- there is always next time.

I think that was my birthday, and I choose to go to the ballgame instead of dinner, is it weird? We picked up my brothers, they just arrived to Chicago (from Poland) few days before. That was their first ever baseball game. We had great time and a lot of ... rain ... before the game. Sox won that night. Fun, fun, fun ...
